Featured Project
1.5 MGD WWTP Upgrade, Hamburg, PA Systems Design Engineering, Inc.(SDE) provided complete design of an upgrade to the WWTP for the Hamburg Municipal Authority. The project was constructed to convey and treat an annual average flow of 1.5 MGD and a maximum peak daily flow of 5.0 MGD, meeting the existing and anticipated residential, commercial, and industrial growth needs in the surrounding Townships, the Borough of Port Clinton and the Borough of Hamburg. Construction Management and observation was provided by SDE Construction, Inc.
The new facilities included an oxidation ditch, a new flow division box, two new clarifiers, sludge pumping building, two dewatering pump stations, a new chlorination / dechlorination support building, a new sludge handling building, and new plant effluent discharge pipe and headwall, pumps, piping and appurtenances. An oxidation ditch was chosen to treat the waste-water that will be collected by the Hamburg Municipal Authority. This process provides flexibility in handling a wide range of flows, produces a high quality effluent, and sustains low operation and maintenance costs.
